"Indiana County has lost its number one cheerleader and fan with the passing of Commissioner Bernie Smith.  Commissioner Smith served the people of Indiana County with a passion and dedication that will be sorely missed.  He had an undying love for Indiana County and an optimistic outlook for its future.  I extend my deepest sympathies to his wife, Gladys, and the entire Smith family during their time of sorrow."
